Lifeform Research Planner

The Lifeform subtab in Auto Research manages lifeform research separately from standard research.

Overview

Lifeform research is planet-specific. The extension stores a configuration for each planet so you can set desired levels and priorities based on that planet's role.

How It Works

The bot reads planet research state, compares it with desired levels, and follows the slot priority setup for each planet. Each tier/slot position is prioritized independently, and the currently selected technology in that slot is what the desired level applies to. If multiple planets share the same plan, you can copy one configuration to the rest.

Settings

  • Lifeform toggle: Enables or disables lifeform research automation.
  • Refresh Lifeform Slots: Schedules a refresh so the UI can detect current slot technologies and levels after the task runs.
  • Planet configuration: Stores desired levels and priority behavior for one planet.
  • Desired levels: Defines the target level for lifeform research items.
  • Slot priorities: Controls which tier/slot positions should be handled first; drag slots or use the move buttons to reorder.
  • Current slot technology: Shows the detected technology, tech ID, current level, and availability for each slot.
  • Apply to all: Copies one planet's enabled state, desired levels, and slot priorities to other planets.
  • Configure one planet first.
  • Refresh lifeform slots before setting targets on a newly detected planet.
  • Use modest desired levels until you confirm resource usage.
  • Copy the configuration only to planets with the same lifeform plan.
  • Recheck settings after changing lifeforms or planet roles.

Common Mistakes

  • Copying one planet's lifeform plan to planets with different roles.
  • Setting desired levels without refreshing current levels.
  • Enabling too many lifeform research targets at once.
